Outlaw Trails & Tales

Summary of Presentations

Joel Frandsen has been speaking publicly for 25 years.  He has an obsession with  outlaws and lawmen of the Intermountain Area, primarily the Wild Bunch,  and can keep a group spellbound in his well researched speeches.  The following is a list of his presentations. Each program is about an hour in length and includes 10-15 minutes for questions and includes pictures projected or circulated of the key characters.

*Note, all of the topics have been approved by the Utah Humanities Council as part of their Road Scholar program and have been presented on numerous occasions throughout the state. The Matt Warner story was covered on national public radio, and the written version of “The Burial of Joe Walker and Butch Cassidy” received the award as the “Best Periodical Article” of the year by the Western Outlaw and Lawman History Association in 2002.

Comments by Utah Humanities Council : “Joel has a very good “around the campfire” way of telling the story and keeping folks interested. His information on the mis-identity of Butch Cassidy fascinated listeners.”
