 Joel Frandsen is Retired Natural Resource Manager: He served as State Forester/Director of Utah’s Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands and is also a retiree of the US Forest Service having served on six national forests in four separate states. Joel has a life time interest in the old west, western history, legends, and folk tales with a passion for the outlaw-lawmen era of the Intermountain West. He has taught classes on the Outlaw Trail at the College of Eastern Utah and was on the Utah Humanities Council Speakers Bureau for eight years.  Through the College of Eastern Utah, Joel directed the “Re-enactment of the Castle Gate Payroll Robbery” on its one hundredth anniversary in 1997, the Re-enactment of “Butch is Dead,” the account of the demise of the outlaw Joe Walker and the Butch Cassidy look alike, Johnny Herring on its hundredth anniversary in 1998, and in 2001, he organized and directed the program “The End of the Outlaw Trail.” in Green River, Utah. . In 2004, Joel co-chaired the annual meeting of the Western Outlaw and Lawman History Association in Price, Utah.
